What this is

callsheet is a calm, minimal desktop day-board. No timeline, no hour-grid, no notifications, no alert tones, no analytics, no verdicts. Just a single centred column of cards for today — the whole day visible at once.

Presence not pressure. callsheet never reminds you, never pings, never judges. It holds the shape of the day and lets you live it.

Colour is the grammar. Five seed activity types — research, making, teaching, body, admin — with low-saturation pastel fills. Custom types get auto-assigned pastels with enforced colour uniqueness. You can read the day at a glance.

Durable vs provisional. A collapsible sidebar holds durable templates; drag one into the day and it becomes a provisional card. Move between days to place things ahead.

Agent presence - if you want it there. If you're running Hermes Agent, your instance can send you faint dashed-border ghost cards at the bottom of the stack that gently propose activity types. A click commits them. They never ping.

Built for real days. Basic markdown in every card, drag-and-drop reordering, keyboard shortcuts, day navigation. No specialised syntax to learn — if you can write a list, you can use callsheet.

Why this exists

callsheet is a small app that lives where you put it on your desktop. when it's running, you can add cards to a page, and keep track of the things you want to get around to on any particular day. callsheet won't remind you about them. it just holds the cards so you can use them as your reminder.

I built it because it's an app I wanted. I find it hard to create timed reminders, and I hate notification pings to remind me to do things. I wanted a reminder app that worked like a whiteboard, but without my terrible handwriting.

I'm a sound artist, not a developer, so there's a nice irony in using the AI tools that big tech wants to take my job with to take a little something back, and use it to create something that's against all the so-called rules about what reminder apps, calendars, and to-do list apps are supposed to do. I'm also researching what technology means in a performance-as-research arts practice, so this is my performance of technology.

I also built functionality into callsheet to allow the Hermes agent I've thoroughly corrupted with theatre and phenomenology to suggest 'ghost cards' every morning. Just two, derived from whatever work I did yesterday. I've yet to fully document that, and the app deliberately doesn't have settings, so that feature may not be functional for you. 

Pay what you want - I hope to be able to get this app properly notarised which means paying the fees, but I'm only going to do that if I can also donate some of the proceeds to organisations supporting young queer people. That's the whole plan.
